26" tall Mixed Media Sculpture (This piece is available) Yemaya is a mother goddess; patron deity of women, especially pregnant women; and the Ogun river. Her parents are Oduduwa and Obatala. There are many stories as to how she became the mother of all saints. My inspiration for this sculpture came from a few wonderful trips to Brazil and, in particular, Salvador do Bahia, where she is still revered. |
