27" tall Mixed media sculpture (This piece is available) In ancient Greek mythology, Amphitrite was a sea-goddess and wife of Poseidon. Others called her the personification of the sea itself. Amphitrite's offspring included seals and dolphins. Poseidon and Amphitrite had a son, Triton who was a merman, and a daughter, Rhode. I was intrigued by this character because she is so seldomly portrayed in art or literature. |
